In addition to letting you adjust resolution, contrast, brightness, and the like, the driver offers some digital enhancement features, including dust removal and backlight correction, that make it easy to improve the scan. The driver offers both an Advanced mode that gives you lots of control but might be a little overwhelming for less knowledgeable users, and a Basic mode with fewer choices. If you want to try your hand at improving it, however, you can adjust settings in the Twain driver. The AutoScan feature did a good enough job in our tests so that many people will find the quality more than acceptable.

The LiDE 110 offers most of the same features as the LiDE 100, including 2400 pixel per inch (ppi) optical resolution and reasonably high scan quality. It's also an easy pick for Editors' Choice.
